WHITE BLOCK SCHEDULE TODAY                     



SHARP IS POSTED – Outside the ASB office. Please make sure your name is spelled correctly and your correct 3rd period is posted. The SHARP assembly will be on April during pd 3. Corrections due by Friday, March 23.


COME TO THE LIGHTHOUSE CLUB - At lunch on Tuesdays in room 223.  Also, after school CRU club on Tuesdays at 2:50 in room 223


IF YOU WOULD LIKE HELP IN SPEAKING ENGLISH, - Come to the Foreign Club and we will help you settle into Lakewood High!  Thursdays in Room 223 (across from the bookroom) at lunch.  Also, we still need a speakers of Russian and Chinese to assist during the club.  This is a great way to “pay it forward” and help out others!!


THE LIBRARY WILL BE CLOSED - All day Today, March 19 and Tuesday, March 20th. It will be open before and after school.

STUDENT AMBASSADORS MEETING TODAY – Student Ambassadors, make sure to come to the meeting in the College and Career Center today at Lunch.


LBCC EARLY BIRD DEADLINE IS CLOSE – Seniors, if you are going to LBCC in the Fall and you still haven’t participated in Early Bird, you can register in College and Career Center today for Saturday, March 24th Early Bird at LBCC.  Remember to bring your LBCC ID number to register.


CALLING ALL STUDENTS LOOKING TO WIN UP TO $5,000 – The NuVision Scholarship deadline is approaching fast.  Any student can be chosen to win up to $5,000.  Stop by the College and Career Center today to make sure that you’re ready for this Friday’s deadline.  Ten students (from any grade) from Lakewood High School will be chosen to compete for one of the many scholarships that will be given away.


HAVE YOU CLAIMED YOUR PAID SUMMER INTERNSHIP? – Juniors, stop by the College and Career Center today to pick up the Long Beach Call Summer Internship flyer and choose where you’d like to earn money this summer.

ALL STUDENTS INTERESTED IN AUDITIONING FOR THE DANCE TEAM 2018-19 - Please attend mandatory parent/student meeting Wednesday, March 28 at 7:00 in the cafe.  Bring completed application.  Applications are available in the ASB office. If you are missing the PARENT SIGNATURE portion in your packet please pick one up in the ASB office. Thanks.

MARCH FOR OUR LIVES – Come to room 922 this Friday, March 16th at lunch to help organize and participate in the March for our Lives.

ATTENTION ALL LANCERS THAT ARE LOUD AND PROUD! Do you have spirit? school pride? Like to cheer for sports? Have rhythm? We want you to join our Team! Cheer Try Outs start March 19th-26th! Pick up your Packet in ASB and see you at the Mandatory Parent Meeting, tonight, Wednesday March 14th @ 6pm in the Library. Come see Ms. Cisneros (Ms.C) in Rm 306 if you have any questions :)

THE IMPROV SHOWS THIS WEEK – Will be tonight, 3/16 at 7:00 p.m. Admission is $10. Students will not be able to get in with ASB card. Seating is on the auditorium stage. 

YEARBOOKS ARE FOR SALE - For $95 until March 30th at the Bankers Office. Please be sure to pre-order your yearbook to guarantee your copy. Last year we SOLD OUT!

MISS THE MARCH 2ND FINANCIAL AID DEADLINE? – Seniors, if you’re going to community college in the Fall and you missed the March 2nd financial aid deadline, you can still complete your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at to qualify for some free money.  Remember that most of the free money that you can get for your life after high school will come from the FAFSA.  Don’t miss out on any more free money!  Also remember that you’ll need your parents’ 2016 tax returns to make it easier to complete your financial aid application.


NEXT LBCC EARLY BIRD ON MARCH 24TH – Seniors, if you missed LBCC Express Days at Lakewood and registration for the March 10th Early Bird, you can still participate in the Early Bird process on Saturday, March 24th at LBCC.  Stop by the College and Career Center or one of the College Advisors’ offices today to pick up a flyer.  You’ll need to register for the Early Bird starting today in the College and Career Center.  Remember to bring your LBCC ID number to register.


UC SANTA CRUZ AND UC SANTA BARBARA ANNOUNCING FALL ADMISSIONS – Seniors, have you been checking the portals for the colleges that you’ve applied to on a regular basis?  UC Santa Cruz just made announcements about Fall admissions on March 15th and UC Santa Barbara will be announcing through your UCSB portal tomorrow.  Find out if you’ve been admitted for the Fall.




SUMMER INTERNSHIP FOR JUNIORS – Juniors, apply for a summer internship in the field of your choice at under the “Students-Opportunity for Students” tab.  The deadline to apply is March 31st so make sure you complete the application this week for your chance to get a paid summer internship.


FREE SPORTS MEDICINE SUMMER MENTORING CAMP – If you’re interested in sports medicine or any aspect of the medical field, register for the FREE Summer Sports Medicine Mentoring Program at or stop by the College and Career Center to pick up a flyer.  This opportunity is open to all students in high school.


CAREER & INTERNSHIP READINESS CONFERENCE – Juniors and Seniors, are you looking for a job?  The Career & Internship Readiness Conference on April 14th will make sure that you’re ready for any job that becomes available.  Stop by the College and Career Center to pick up a flyer and register at
