Youth Leadership Long Beach is a FREE, 7-month program for next year's 10th and 11th graders that begins in the fall and includes an orientation, a weekend retreat, classroom sessions at community sites (such as City Hall, the Airport, and CSULB), interactive and informational sessions (about the people, culture, diversity and government of Long Beach) alongside other high school students to helps 'discover the leader within.' Each group also designs, plans and implements a community service project to bring about positive change in the Long Beach community.
