SHARP APPLICATIONS – Are due on Friday, September 21st at the ASB office.
SENIOR PARENT NIGHT IS – is Thursday, Sept. 20th at 6:30 pm in the Lakewood High School cafeteria. Items on sale are cap & gown, panorama picture, yearbook, grad night, rings, announcements, etc. This is an important information meeting; please encourage your parents to attend.
THE ONE WORLD CLUB - Is back for another year to do Humanitarian work! If you are interested helping others, learning about different cultures, and want to do great things for the world then come every to our meetings every Wednesday at lunch in Room 324. We have great projects coming up.

WANT TO BE ON LAKEWOODS HOMECOMING COURT? Homecoming is already soon at hand, October 12th. Petitions to be on the 2012’s court are now in the ASB office! Represent your year and join the nobility. A mandatory meeting will be on the 20th of September at lunch in the ASB office.
THE LOCKER ROOMS - And locker room restrooms are always closed during lunch. Please do not try to enter either locker room for any reason.
SCHOOL ID’S – If you have not picked up your school ID, please pick it up ASAP at the Activities Office.
SUMMER SERVICE LEARNING HOURS ARE DUE BY SEPTEMBER 28TH - Remember Juniors and Seniors, you can still earn Service Learning Hours for awards. There will be deadlines every month so make sure that you turn your Service Learning Logs in on time to the College and Career Center in Room 332. All Summer and September Hours are due to Miss Gildon by Friday, September 28th.
THE FOLLOWING WORK-BASED LEARNING CLASSES (WBL) ARE STILL OPEN - Careers With Children class 3rd and 4th periods 10-15 credits: Students will explore working as an aide in either a preschool or elementary classroom ;School-Age Care class 6th period or 7th (M/W 3-5:30) 5-10 credits:Students will have fun working in an after-school program at an elem or middle school; (WRAP, LB Parks and Rec, Boy’s & Girls Club)
Co-Op Food Service Business Careers class 0 period Mon/Tues 10-15 credits:Students should have a job in a restaurant, fast food, grocery store, food retail store or theater!; Co-op Retail Service Careers Business class 7th period Monday only! (2:45-3:30) : Jobs leads will be given to those without a job!
STUDENTS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO CONDUCT PERSONAL BUSINESS IN THE OFFICE DURING CLASS TIME. - For example, purchasing items from banker, returning books, etc. Please take care of these items before school starting @ 7am, during nutrition and lunch, or after school until 3pm. Do not ask teachers for a pass to come to the office as you will be turned away without taking care of business.
ASB FRESHMAN ELECTIONS – Shout out to all the Freshmen! Do you want to represent the class of 2016 in student council? Applications are out now in the Activities Office. Mandatory meeting will be on Friday, September 21st at lunch in the ASB office.
ACTIVITIES CARDS ARE READY – For pickup at the Activities Office during nutrition, lunch and after school.
MANDATORY HOMECOMING BOOTH MEETING – Wednesday, the 19th during lunch in the ASB office. All clubs planning on having a booth MUST attend.
CSF/NHS - Applications are available in the ASB office. You must attach a report card from the Spring 2012 semester to each application turned in. We cannot accept transcripts. Application deadline is 3 p.m. on Friday, September 21. Sophomores turn them in to Mrs. Wilcox in room 841. Juniors and Seniors turn them in to Mrs. Torres in room 827. There are new rules that say we can't accept ninth grade students until after the fall semester.

MESAMEETING THIS TUESDAY – Interested in math, engineering or science? Join the MESA club tomorrow at lunch in Room 322 to learn about how to compete in MESA.
FEMALELEADERSHIPACADEMY- All applications are due no later than after school on Wednesday, September 19th.
JOIN the Youth Environmental Leaders! – Do you care about the future of our environment? Would you like to make an impact in the world? Come join YELL! Meet new friends, discover facts about Earth, and gain many service hours! Join us Thursday in Rm. 811 on September 20th at lunch and take part in a fun and green year!

ALL-EXPENSES PAID FORCOLLEGE - If you qualify for free or reduced lunch and have done well in school, please stop by the College and Career Center in Room 332 at lunch today to find out about earning a free ride to a four-year university.
NEXT ACT DEADLINE IS SEPTEMBER 21ST - Register for the October 27th ACT today at www.actstudnet.org. If you qualify for free or reduced lunch, please stop by the College and Career Center to get your fee waiver before you apply for the test.
