11TH AND 12TH GRADE CAHSEE TEST-TAKERS - The CAHSEE will take place on Tuesday and Wednesday, November 6th and 7th. You will receive an invitation with your testing date/s, time, and location. Testing will begin 1st period. Please come prepared with your student ID and your favorite #2 pencil. It is a good idea to get a good night's sleep, eat a healthy breakfast, and keep a confident and positive attitude. You are Lancers, you can do this!

ATHLETIC SHOE DRIVE– LHS and school cents need our support in collecting athletic shoes, including vans, and cleats. We will get 500 points for every pair you donate. Please bring in your shoes to the ASB office by today, October 26th.
VARSITY FOOTBALL VS MILLIKAN HS - At Millikan this today, October 26., 2012. Game starts at 7:00pm. Lakewood HS student pre-sale tickets on sale for $3.00 at the Banker's office.
SOFTBALL TRYOUTS – Saturday, October 27th on the softball field from 9am to 12 noon. Please bring your softball gear and plenty to drink and a good attitude.
SENIOR SHIELD CONTEST - Applications avail: Friday. Oct 19th, Due: Wednesday, Nov. 21st, 2012
Do you have any artistic talent? If so, consider filling out an application to participate in the senior shield contest. The winner will receive a free yearbook and be forever remembered as the shield will be placed in the school cafeteria for generations to come. The shield will also be seen in the front row of the Senior Panorama picture to be taken during Senior Century Day. Winner will be reimbursed up to $300 for making the shield.
KNOTT’S SCARY FARM TICKETS – We still have Knott’s Scary Farm tickets in the ASB office for this Sat. the 27th for $44.
RED CROSS – Starting today we are having sign-ups for the November 1st Blood Driveat the rally stage during lunch. Please go and sign-up to save lives.

COMMON APPLICATION IS AVAILABLE FOR MOST PRIVATE SCHOOLS - Apply for most private colleges at www.commonapp.org. Check each individual school's application deadline.
THE LAST DEADLINES FOR THE SAT AND ACT ARE COMING SOON! - Seniors, the December SAT and ACT are the last ones that you can take for most college applications. You can register for the for the December 1st SAT at www.collegeboard.org by November 1st. You can register for the December 8th ACT by November 2nd. If you qualify for free or reduced lunch, please stop by the College and Career Center to get your fee waiver.

CSUDH OPEN HOUSEONSATURDAY - Learn more about the great programs (such as Athletic Training, Criminal Justice, Business, Computer Science, Nursing, Music, and Psychology) at CSU Dominguez Hills at Saturday's Open House. Check-in starts at 8:30 am in the Torodome Gym and the event goes from 9:30 amto 12:30 pm. Dominguez Hills is our closest CSU campus that is not impacted (the next closest is CSU Channel Islands).
NCAA FEE WAIVER - Juniors and Seniors: If you qualify for free or reduced lunch, remember to stop by the College and Career Center to tell Miss Gildon that you need a fee waiver after you register for NCAA Eligibility Center at www.eligibilitycenter.org.
