Deferred Action Workshop hosted by Congresswoman Linda Sanchez (11/20)

Congresswoman Linda Sanchez is hosting a Community Forum and Deferred Action Workshop on Tuesday, November 20th from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the C. Robert  Lee Activity Center (21815 Pioneer Boulevard, Hawaiian Gardens).

On June 15, 2012, President Obama and the Department of Homeland Security announced that certain young people who came to the United States as children and meet several strict key guidelines will be considered for relief from removal from the country or from being entered into removal proceedings.  People who meet these requirements are able to request consideration of deferred action for a period of two years, subject to renewal, and would then be eligible for work authorization.

In order to assist many of the eligible students for this program, Congresswoman Sanchez invites students and their familites to attend the November 20th workshop.  The presentation will begin promptly at 6:00 pm and will be followed by consultations until 9:00 pm.

At this FREE event, students will learn about deferred action and what they need to qualify for the process.  They will be able to ask questions specific to their own application process, and certain applicants will be able to speak with an immigration professional in a one-on-one setting.
