Alta Vista Easy to use and fast. You don't have to sit and wait for information to come up for a long time. This site would be a good site for someone who doesn't know much about how to use search engines, because it's not difficult to use. AOL AOL is fast, easy, and reliable. Simple to use! A++! I liked this web site because it gave me the information I needed to get very easily. It narrows down categories and even gives you a list of the most frequently searched items. AOL is a definite winner. Ask Jeeves A good tool for studies and locating information for diffrent projects. Jeeves is set up nicely and easy to use. There is help at the bottom of the page. Beaucoup Beaucoup is not as flashy as others like AOL or Yahoo, but It gets right to the point. Its very easy to use and it doesn't lure you in with flashy gimmicks and ads. In fact I didn't see any ads, except for one that said tell a friend about us. This sight gives you exactly what you're looking for. The loading time is very exceptional, and I would recommend this sight to everyone. BigHub Shows you what you need to know and it goes there quickly. The graphics are good but they could have been better. Big Hub took me to the information I needed directly, and had a lot of helpful information if I needed it. C4 I think that this site was helpful and quick. It was really easy to use. Help buttons where always present when needed. However some information was hard to locate or get right to right away. Dogpile Dogpile is a excellent site to go to when you are looking for lots of help. It is a cool site, and it has amazing graphics. Excite Excite worked great! It was user friendly and made searching easy. Excite is a great alternative to Goggle or Yahoo. The search results that were present stayed on topic and gave me the answers I needed. This site was also very fast and easy to use; it didn't have a lot of distracting pop-ups or messages. Find The Find keyword search was very good at helping you find information on things you wanted or needed to know. The site was fast at loading because there were hardly any pictures. However, the site was slow at finding the information I wanted to view. The help and search button was not easily found on the page making the searching process slow. Galaxy A fast growing Internet searching tool, allowing easy searching all areas of the Internet. GeniusFind This site has a list of websites and search engines that are easy to use. It's an easy way to find the things that you need. This site is very helpful and fun to use. Geocitites Learn to find information on the internet at a fast and fun! Google Analyzes all of the links it finds on Web pages for relevance to a particular subject then ranks them. Highway61 Highway 61 is very descriptive and very informational. When you get to a web site it splits the categories for you. Or you can type a word that best fits what you are looking for and you'll get good results back. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to find the simple things. HotBot This search tool is very fast and easy to use. All you have to do is type in a key word and the smart search technology will find what it thinks you want. InfoSeek InfoSeek is fast, helpful and it gets the job done. I would suggest this site to anyone who needs information quick and easy. All you have to do is write the keyword or words and it will locate your desire in seconds. This site is one with not that many pictures and ads, but it's very useful when you need to get something done. As you type in what you need then all you got to do is sit back and let InfoSeek do the work. IXQUICK IXQUICK is quick and it gives you a variety of search options. If you want to search for news and picture it is very efficient. LookSmart High quality, very focused searches. Lycos This search engine, served by Carnegie Mellon University, will allow you to search document titles and content. Its database contains 3.75 million link descriptors and the keywords from 767,000 documents. The Lycos index is built by a Web crawler that can bring in 5,000 documents per day. Mamma This was a simple search tool. It was not to fancy, but it was useful. Once I started searching I got quick results, and the first sites returned were the ones that provided my answers. I was satisfied with this search tool and would recommend to someone else. MetaCrawler MetaCrawler links to more than a dozen Internet search engines, which are searched in real-time directly through this service. Enter your keywords, and MetaCrawler sends them to all of the engines at the same time! Watch out though -- this is a very popular service, so it may take some time for the results to return to you. Mining Company I found it to be a reliable site to get the information I needed. However, the site was somewhat slow. I really liked how the site gave you an option to search many different categories, and even search topics alphabetically. After trying this site, I would recommend it to someone who needs to get a lot of different information about a certain topic, but who has a lot of time to do so. Netscape I think that this search tool was overall a good one to use. This search tool allowed me to find the things that I needed with little or no difficulty. I was somewhat disappointed with the speed however, it was not fast but it was not slow... it was in the middle. It is an average search tool that is efficient enough. It is appropriate for school because it does not contain any inappropriate advertising. MSN MSN is a very good search engine, if you misspell a word, they automatically correct for you. The layout is great, easy to navigate. The results they give you are good, making it easy to find what you are looking for. It's fast and it's easy to use. Northern Light This search tool downloaded the information I needed very quickly. All I had to do was type in the main words about the site or link that I needed, then it lead me to a number of links about the subject. Overture This is not a site for armatures. You have to be very specific with your search or you will end up with a long list to choose from. Scrub The Web Scrub the Web is not a bad search engine at all. It's easy and simple for anyone to use. It loads very efficiently and provides a list of information pertaining to your keyword. Information takes about 7 to 10 seconds to load up. The engine doesn't have any inappropriate pictures or words that pop up. Search.Com A fun to use well-organized collection of search engines. Search results are returned very rapidly and are usually helpful. The only this bad about this site is that it lacks a help options. SherlockHound This is a very well working website. It searches the top 12 search engines all at the same time which is a great way to search for things. You can find almost anything, and it will help you find the information you need quickly. A good feature is that it tells you what other search sites it is looking at. Teoma Teoma is very fast and effective in helping you find the information you need. Along with the simple and well-designed main page, it is very user friendly. The only drawbacks are that it can be slow at times and it also does not include a help area. WebCrawler This site searches other search pages which make it slower than other sites, but it is easy to use and very helpful. Yahoo Yahoo is an easy-to-navigate topical index to the Web's holdings. It includes a small search engine to help you find things listed within it. Yahooligans Yahooligans is a Web guide made specifically for students. Contains solid resources that are safe for searching and viewing by students. |
