Senior Class President's Message

Senior Class President's Message

Dear students, teachers, administrators, parents, and staff.

Welcome back! I hope everybody enjoyed summer break and was able to use the time to prepare for the incoming year. Despite our state's budget meltdown and a multitude of challenges, Lakewood was able to give our students a great academic and athletic year. The STAR test results from last year foreshadow a great academic 2011-2012 year. According to McKinsey & Company, Lakewood is now part of one of the best school districts in the nation. The sustained and significant academic improvements made last year are assured to carry on. This year we go in to Moore League as one of the most decorated sports programs. Multiple Moore League championships, League MVP's, and First-Team CIF honorees are returning to the Lakewood athletic program to carry on the tradition and legacy that Lakewood High sports is. As a member of the student council, I can assure you that under the great leadership of Chrisley Maglanoc (ASB President), we are diligently working on making the 2011-2012 school year one of the most memorable and worthwhile years. As today's lancers and tomorrow's leaders, it is expected for each and every one of us to put in our full effort into this coming year and our future endeavors. Don't forget that although High School is only one chapter of our life, it is one of the most important ones. As Conrad Hilton once said, "Success . . . seems to be connected with action. Successful men keep moving. They make mistakes, but they don’t quit." Have a great school year, and Go Wood!
